About Us

Peace By Chocolate produces artisan chocolates as a way to spread love and peace in a big and complicated world. Originally from Syria, this family business was embraced by Canada, Nova Scotia and the community of Antigonish. A strong believer in social justice, the company works to support peace building projects throughout Canada.
For more than 20 years we shipped our specialty treats all over the Middle East to countries like Yemen, Jordan and Lebanon.
Like much of our homeland, the Hadhad chocolate factory was destroyed in a bombing that forced our family to leave everything behind and flee to Lebanon.
For three years our lives had been forever altered and we dreamed of returning to the lives we love. When our family was invited into Canada and became full Canadian citizens our dreams came true. With the support of our new community Antigonish and the people of Nova Scotia we have rebuilt our chocolate company and are once again doing the work we love.

Vision and Mission ‘A personal approach does not need to have limits, as long as we continue to make a product with attention and passion. That’s what our company stands for.’
We have a unique experience and an intention to share it with our new community. Since we started Peace by Chocolate at the beginning of 2016, we have been fortunate to share our passion for chocolate with new friends in our community of Antigonish, across the province of Nova Scotia and now around the world.
