About Us

2b is a 23-year old Kjipuktuk/Halifax-based, internationally renowned theatre company creating vital, innovative, and rigorous original works that challenge what theatre is and what it can be. We centre care for our artists and audience members and create works that are accessible to both new and artistically seasoned audiences. We create, develop, produce, and tour works for the regional, national, and international stage. Our shows have been performed in 66 cities in 13 countries on five continents.

2022-23 was one of our most active and most successful seasons yet. Our performances reached more than 22,000 audience members in 11 cities, we employed 97 contract-based employees as well as our seven full-time staff members.
