About Us
Breaking Circus is a black-led, contemporary circus production company based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax, Mi'kma'ki/Nova Scotia, Canada. Founded in 2018, we develop, produce, promote and present contemporary circus arts performances for live and digital audiences. Our company works with local and professional circus artists from diverse backgrounds to develop original content for our in-house productions and for external clients. Our studio is located at 2164 Amalamek Way, in the heart of the north end of Kjipuktuk/Halifax.
Our mission is to create innovative, contemporary circus works that inspire meaningful dialogue amongst our audiences while being socially responsible and endeavoring to work closely with community to mutual benefit.
Alongside contemporary circus production, Breaking Circus also offers services in space rental, aerial rigging, circus instruction, community outreach, and project consultation and development.
