Hear from our partners through TED talk-style presentations, each lasting less than 10 minutes with an opportunity to ask your questions to the experts. Gain a wealth of knowledge on diversifying your procurement processes, enhancing competitiveness, and fostering economic growth in the business community.
Attendees will gain a better understanding of the importance of supply chain diversity, acquire actionable strategies to implement within their organizations, and help create a more inclusive, innovative, and competitive business landscape in Nova Scotia and beyond. Stick around for a networking session to engage with fellow attendees and the presenters.
From our partners:
Procurement Assistance Canada will share how the Government of Canada is leveraging its procurement spending to diversify its supply chain. Attendees will learn about what the government buys, how diverse businesses can navigate the procurement process, and the available support as they move through their bidding journey.
Cindy O’Driscoll is the Regional Manager at Procurement Assistance Canada, part of Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) in Halifax.

Cindy holds an MBA, an MSc in Coastal Zone Management, and both MA and BA (Honours) degrees in Archaeology. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in business administration at Saint Mary’s University.
The Competition Bureau will address the importance of fostering a competitive and fair marketplace that supports diverse suppliers. Their talk will highlight how inclusive supply chains can drive economic growth and provide businesses with a competitive edge by tapping into a broader range of talents and perspectives. The Competition Bureau is an independent law enforcement agency that works to foster a competitive and innovative marketplace in which Canadian businesses can prosper.
Competition law can be overwhelming. Understanding how it applies to small and medium sized business and its broader effects can be difficult to imagine in your day-to-day operations. To shed light on this crucial information, members of the Competition Bureau will be giving an in-person presentation on all things competition law, covering items like:
- How the Bureau helps protect and promote competition
- Staying above board with the law
- Have a voice in pro-competitive policy changes and;
- How to spot potentially anti-competitive behavior
