Neurodiversity in the Workplace: Creating Environments Where Everyone Can Be Successful
In this workshop, Laura will guide participants through an interactive and informative session on the importance of embracing neurodiversity in the workplace. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of neurodiversity, the neurodivergent umbrella as well as different ways of thinking, processing, learning, and behaving.
Through engaging activities and discussion, attendees will explore strategies to create an inclusive workplace culture that promotes diversity, acceptance and supports the unique strengths and abilities of neurodivergent individuals. The workshop will also cover topics such as accommodations, adjustments, and accessibility as well as coaching approaches that can enhance team dynamics and foster collaboration. By the end of the workshop, participants will have practical tools and knowledge to create a more neurodiverse-friendly workplace that values diversity and maximizes the potential of all team members.
About the Presenter:
Laura Fair
Owner, Abound Consulting
Laura holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Employment Relations from Acadia University and a Master of Science in Business Psychology and Coaching Psychology from Heriot-Watt University. Laura's deep passion for neurodiversity arises from her personal experiences and those of others, which led her to focus her master’s dissertation on coaching for neurodiversity in the workplace. She remains up to date through in-depth research on this complex and evolving topic.
In addition to her academic qualifications, Laura has completed several certifications from reputable institutions, including the University of British Columbia's Autism and Neurodiversity in the Workplace program, St. John Ambulance's Mental Health and Wellness in the Workplace certification, and various trauma-informed ADHD coaching courses from Gold Mind Neurodiversity Academy in the UK. It should be noted that all of Laura’s professional coaching training is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
