The Halifax Chamber of Commerce is pleased to offer a round of FREE online training programs to help grow your business in collaboration with the Nova Scotia Department of Labour, Skills, and Immigration.

The fundamental program in the finance stream of Workplace Education is Financial Fundamentals (Level I). It is a must have for every business owner. Starting with key accounting terminology, this program takes you step-by-step through the basics of the your business finances. By the end of the program you will understand bookkeeping basics, be able to read, analyze and make financial decisions based on your company’s financial statements as well as know what needs to be done to comply with government reporting requirements.
Takia is a senior financial broker. A proud graduate of Dalhousie University, Takia has worked in various sectors of finance for over 10 years. Working with numbers has always been fun for Takia, but it was their love for working with people that inspired them to work in the industry. Now as an instructor Takia gets to expand on the journey and teach others what they have learned.
To sign up for the training, you must complete the required registration fields, which are required by the Department of Labour Skills & Immigration.
Once we receive your completed form, your information will be provided to your trainer and they will contact you to complete an Individual Needs Assessment to ensure this training is the right fit for you and your business.
Your trainer will then become your point of contact for the training and they will provide you with the information on how to join the sessions each week.
The program must be taken on a computer, laptop, or tablet, no phones.
Participants must have a reliable Internet connection.
Headphones with a microphone and a webcam.
Participants must display video; required to ensure the connection to the instructor and other participants.
A quiet place, free of distractions.
*The above are critically important not only for the success of individual participants but also the success of the entire group.
