DESCRIPTION:The Halifax Chamber of Commerce is pleased to offer a round of FREE online training programs to help grow your business in collaboration with the Nova Scotia Department of Labour\, Skills\, and Immigration.\n\n\n \nTRAINING OVERVIEW:\nFinancial Fundamentals Lvl 1 training is a 11 week program that will start on\, Wednesday\, April 17 and take place once per week every WEDNESDAY from 9:00AM - 12:30PM.\n\n\n\nThese training sessions are in high demand. Please only register if you are 100% committed to fully participating in this training. This is a 40 hour course and you will be required to participate in 80% of the sessions in order to receive the certificate.\n\n \n\n	\n	Preference will be given to members. Future members interested in joining\, please contact Jenn Kurmey\, Membership Sales Manager at jenn@halifaxchamber.com\n	\n	\n	There are only 12 spaces available for this session\, if the session is full\, please add yourself to the waitlist and you will be contacted if a spot opens up.\n	\n	\n	We are limiting this training to 1 employee representative per organization in order to allow more people the opportunity to participate\n	\n\n\n\n\nFINANCIAL FUNDAMENTALS TRAINING SUMMARY:\n\nThe fundamental program in the finance stream of Workplace Education is Financial Fundamentals (Level I).  It is a must have for every business owner.  Starting with key accounting terminology\, this program takes you step-by-step through the basics of the your business finances. By the end of the program you will understand bookkeeping basics\, be able to read\, analyze and make financial decisions based on your company's financial statements as well as know what needs to be done to comply with government reporting requirements.\n\n\nABOUT THE TRAINER:\n\n \n\nTakia Panza Benjamin\, Owner of TPB Consulting\n\n \n\nTakia is a senior financial broker. A proud graduate of Dalhousie University\, Takia has worked in various sectors of finance for over 10 years. Working with numbers has always been fun for Takia\, but it was their love for working with people that inspired them to work in the industry. Now as an instructor Takia gets to expand on the journey and teach others what they have learned.\n\n \n\n\nTRAINING TIMELINE:\n\n\n	\n	To sign up for the training\, you must complete the required registration fields\, which are required by the Department of Labour Skills & Immigration.\n	\n	\n	Once we receive your completed form\, your information will be provided to your trainer and they will contact you to complete an Individual Needs Assessment to ensure this training is the right fit for you and your business.\n	\n	\n	Your trainer will then become your point of contact for the training and they will provide you with the information on how to join the sessions each week.\n	\n\n\n\nPARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS:\n\n\n	\n	The program must be taken on a computer\, laptop\, or tablet\, no phones. \n	\n	\n	Participants must have a reliable Internet connection.\n	\n	\n	Headphones with a microphone and a webcam.\n	\n	\n	Participants must display video\; required to ensure the connection to the instructor and other participants.\n	\n	\n	A quiet place\, free of distractions.\n	\n\n\n*The above are critically important not only for the success of individual participants but also the success of the entire group.
