FREE TRAINING: Communications for Leaders & Supervisors
The Halifax Chamber of Commerce is pleased to offer a round of FREE online training programs to help grow your business in collaboration with the Nova Scotia Department of Labour, Skills, and Immigration.

TRAINING OVERVIEW:
Communications for Leaders & Supervisors training is a 10 week program that will start on, Wednesday, April 24 and take place once per week every WEDNESDAY from 8:30AM - 12:30PM.These training sessions are in high demand. Please only register if you are 100% committed to fully participating in this training. This is a 40 hour course and you will be required to participate in 80% of the sessions in order to receive the certificate.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR LEADERS & SUPERVISORS TRAINING SUMMARY:
Effective communication is essential to keeping an organization running smoothly and effectively. This course has a focus on building strong interpersonal skills necessary for successful relationships, partnerships, and organizational success. The Communications for Supervisors course will help you learn to confidently express your ideas, communicate strategy, and support you through the changing trends around how people communicate in the workplace and marketplace. This course is designed to help you learn the best practices in workplace communication and how to navigate a multi-generational workplace. This program is also the cornerstone for attracting and retaining the right employees. Join us to learn training solutions that will empower you with impactful and adaptable skills.
ABOUT THE TRAINER:
Margo Hampden, Blue Coast Consulting Inc.
Margo Hampden is the CEO and Co-founder of Blue Coast Consulting Inc. An organization that prides itself on helping others learn, grow, and succeed in education and business progression. As a dynamic leader she is an innovative, visionary individual offering 30+ years management experience. She has performed in senior leadership roles in Federal, Provincial and Not-for-Profit organizations. During her recent responsibilities as Executive Director, African Nova Scotian Affairs, provincial government, she focused on key initiatives in leadership, communication, and strategic development.
She has worked across Canadian and US Boarders with a presence in many key spheres such as business, education, diversity and Inclusion, human resources, supplier diversity, in addition to the marine industry with the Port of Halifax. Margo served on numerous community boards including, board of director, for the Black Business Initiative for several years. Margo holds an Executive Master of Business Administration, Certification in Negotiation, Mediation and Conflict Resolution, and was a member of the International Personnel Management Association-ACP. She is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and community.
TRAINING TIMELINE:

To sign up for the training, you must complete the required registration fields, which are required by the Department of Labour Skills & Immigration.

Once we receive your completed form, your information will be provided to your trainer and they will contact you to complete an Individual Needs Assessment to ensure this training is the right fit for you and your business.

Your trainer will then become your point of contact for the training and they will provide you with the information on how to join the sessions each week.
PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS:

The program must be taken on a computer, laptop, or tablet, no phones.

Participants must have a reliable Internet connection.

Headphones with a microphone and a webcam.

Participants must display video; required to ensure the connection to the instructor and other participants.

A quiet place, free of distractions.
*The above are critically important not only for the success of individual participants but also the success of the entire group.
