The face of the world is changing, and so is how people entering the workforce view gender equity, diversity and inclusion. An inclusive workplace is one that makes everyone, regardless of who they are or what they do for the organization, feel equally involved in and supported in all areas of the workplace.
Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world. Gender equality is equal rights, responsibilities and opportunities for all genders. Organizations that value women and men as equal are safer, have higher economic prosperity, and have healthier work environments. Everyone has a role to play in promoting gender equality. Participants will:
- Gain a strong understanding of the importance of diversity and inclusion and its impact on the workplace
- Understand the difference between individual bias and systemic discrimination, and the relationship between the two
- Learn the difference between gender equity vs. gender equality
- Gain comfort discussing dimensions of gender equity and the way it affects employees’ experience of the workplace
- Unconscious bias and its impact on decision making
- Gain an understanding of the history of diversity and inclusion and why it matters so much today
- Gain comfort discussing dimensions of diversity and the way they affect employees’ experience of the workplace
