Luc Erjavec
Vice President -Atlantic Canada Restaurants Canada
Restaurants Canada is one of Canada’s largest business associations representing over 35,000 foodservice establishments across the country. Restaurants Canada represents the owners and operators of foodservice establishments, including full-service and quick-service restaurants, bars, pubs, hotels, caterers and institutions, as well as educators and foodservice suppliers.
Luc joined the association in 1995, establishing the organization’s first regional office. Based in Halifax, Luc is responsible for an ongoing government relations program in Canada’s four Atlantic provinces. With the goal of creating an environment to help our members in every Canadian community grow and prosper, his primary areas of focus include: healthy living; taxation; liquor licensing; labour issues ranging from labour standards and workers’ compensation to labour shortages; food quality and safety; and environmental issues.
Luc currently severs on the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia Workers’ Compensation Board and is Treasurer of the Labourwatch Association,
Luc’s efforts have raised the profile of the foodservice industry and delivered significant savings to foodservice operators, allowing them to continue investing and creating jobs in communities across the region. Much of Luc’s success is due to his ability to develop strong working relationships with foodservice operators, government, media and other business associations.
Gordon Stewart
Executive Director Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia
Gordon is the Executive Director of the Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia (RANS). He took over the position to rebuild the association and make it a core element in the management and evolution of the food & beverage sector in Nova Scotia.
Gordon has a back ground in retailing, manufacturing and many years as a consultant for Tourism Hospitality across Canada and the US. He has been the first Director of Tourism for ACOA where he managed a multi-million dollar portfolio in development of Tourism across the Atlantic Provinces.
He has served a TIANS first president, Vice Chair of the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC), Managing Director of Check In NS, Canada’s first online reservation system for the tourism sector and on many national boards and Task Forces.
He has won numerous awards including, Ambassador Award, Retailer of the Year, Small Business and Tourism Association Executive of the Year for Canada.
