The Halifax Chamber is pleased to offer a FREE 10 week, educational program to help grow your business. This program is offered to businesses, managers, and employees at zero cost. Invest your time into learning the skills, and the resources available to benefit your business, managers or employees.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS TO GROW A SMALL BUSINESS


 By the end of the course, you will be able to generate and assess options on how to grow your small business profitably and create a long-term plan to handle competitive challenges and market opportunities.

 The course activities are hands-on as you learn the skills to systematically, using the proprietary DAPP process, to create a strategic plan to grow your business, increase profitability, and start pursuing your goals. 

  Discover:

  • Learn the four ways to grow a business and assess which are right for you
  • Use creativity tools to generate options to expand your business
  • Find growth opportunities through customer and market insights

 Assess:

  • Use research to test a market
  • Create business cases to assess opportunities to make the best profitable decisions for your organization
  • Explore capital funding options for business expansion
  • Pricing strategies

Plan:

  • Create an action plan for the product, service, or market expansion
  • Create a plan-on-a-poster to help you keep on track

Pursue:

  • Create key market messages for the new product/service or new target market
  • Practice sales skills to close more sales 
  • Hiring techniques to get the staff that will enable your growth efforts
