Over the last six months, the Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS® (NSAR) has engaged with stakeholders from across the province on the state of housing in their community.

MEET YOUR PRESENTERS:
ROGER BOUTILIER, CEO, NSAR
Roger Boutilier is the CEO of the Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS® (NSAR). Prior to taking on the role of CEO in 2011, Roger served as NSAR’s Director of Finance.
He is a Board Member with the Halifax Chamber of Commerce, Trustee of the HMCS Sackville, a Past President of the Certified General Accountants Association of Nova Scotia, and is a recipient of the Canadian Real Estate Association's Frank Johns Award, which recognizes excellence in an Association Executive. Roger is also a dedicated volunteer with FEED NOVA SCOTIA.
Roger is an adamant supporter of “buy local” and is a huge ambassador for his native province of Nova Scotia. It is his belief that every Canadian should visit Nova Scotia at least once in their lifetime to experience its lobster and golf!
SUZANNE GRAVELLE, REALTOR AND CHAIR OF NSAR'S PROVINCIAL/MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Suzanne Gravelle is the Managing Associate Broker for Century 21 Trident Realty Ltd and has been a REALTOR® in Nova Scotia for almost 15 years.
She is currently in her 5th year as a Regional Director for the Halifax Dartmouth region for the Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS® (NSAR.)
She has been, and continues to be a member on many committees for NSAR since 2015, including the MLS Committee, the By-Law Committee and the Professional Standard Committee
Suzanne is an active participant with NSAR's Political Action Commitee (PAC) which advocates for postitive changes and improvements for all Nova Scotia communites and housing strategies at the Federal Level of Government.
She is currently the Chair of NSAR's Provincial Municipal Affairs Committee (PMAC.)
In 2015 she and fellow REALTOR® Emmitt Austin,were instrumental in bringing the Downpayment Assistance Program for First Time Homebuyers to the attention of Nova Scotia Housing. Nova Scotia Housing then took the idea, figured out the nuts and bolts of it and then implemented it and continues to offer it to all Nova Scotia First Time Homebuyers who qualify for this program.
This program was introduced to the province in 2016 by former Premiere Stephen McNeil and it became a full time program for first time home buyers in 2017. She continues to advocate for affordable housing at all levels of Govenment, Provincal and Federal.
For the past 6 years Suzanne has been a volunteer for the Dartmouth General Hospital's Lobster Dinner Committee which raises millions of dollars for much needed equipment to ensure Nova Scotians receive the best health care possible.
Suzanne's current mission, aligns with one of NSAR's mission, which is to lobby all levels of Govenment, both Federal and Provincial, to find solutions for affordable housing so all Nova Scotians can have access to decent, safe and affordable homes.
