Business Support Series: Mental Readiness- Being a leader
The Business Support Webinar Series will explore timely topics with industry experts to provide key insights and answers on the best ways to succeed as a business. Hosted by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce, this series will feature a wide range of topics on how to survive and thrive.
Join us for an interactive discussion and scenario-based training on mental readiness for leaders. This session will discuss the actions to be taken to foster a healthy work environment, how to implement realistic training for leaders, and the role of leaders regarding maintaining mental health and the tools for when an individual’s mental health is declining.
The session will will walk us through the steps for dealing with traumatic events from instructors with operational experience in the military and law enforcement fields. Chris O'Brien of Ridgeback Security Inc., will lead us through the session which will include an explanation of the ad hoc model for incident review and the Shield, Sense, and Support model.
By the end of the session you will have a grasp on the action steps you can take as a leader regarding mental readiness.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Chris O’Brien
Ridgeback Security Inc.
Chris is a certified Government of Canada mental readiness instructor and President of Ridgeback Security Inc. He is also a 13-year member of the Canadian Armed Forces Military Police branch.
He has an impressive resume of instructional experience and varied leadership and staff positions at the unit and branch levels. He deployed to Afghanistan as a mentor to the Afghan National Police in 2010, and in 2014 he qualified Close Protection Operator.
Chris also boasts several years of business development consulting and sales experience which he leverages to create sound, implementable solutions for our clients.
