Workshop: Scrum for Teams

The objective of this course is to show participants what Scrum is and how to implement this framework to achieve better product delivery, improved team morale and improved customer satisfaction. Scrum is the most popular agile framework. Around 58% of organizations worldwide use Scrum or Scrum variants, with adoption being particularly strong in industries like software development, IT, and digital transformation projects. The methodology’s focus on iterative delivery, continuous improvement, and flexibility makes it suitable for a wide range of applications beyond just software development.
From this training, participants will gain knowledge in how organizations can achieve an agile way of working and learn techniques to do so. The information in this course is based on the international standard set by the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Agile Alliance and the Scrum Alliance.
The concepts that participants will learn strengthen product delivery, team motivation, customer satisfaction and project cost control,among other benefits.

Brenda Fay is a seasoned project management trainer and consultant based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with more than 30 years of experience helping organizations deliver results through effective project and Agile practices. Holding PMP, PMI ACP, and Certified Scrum Master credentials, she has trained thousands of professionals and worked with organizations across aviation, engineering, information technology, construction, manufacturing, healthcare, government, and non profit sectors.Brenda is known for her ability to translate complex project management concepts into practical, easy to apply tools that drive clarity, alignment, and measurable outcomes. Her engaging workshops and consulting engagements blend proven frameworks with real world experience, making project management relevant and actionable, especially in fast changing environments. In recent years, her work has focused on integrating AI into project workflows, enabling teams to forecast more accurately, automate intelligently, and deliver value faster.
ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
As per the guidelines for LSI funding, there is eligibility criteria for participants. **
A business is eligible to participate if it:
- is located in Nova Scotia
- is registered and active in the Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stock Companies or incorporated by an Act of the Nova Scotia Legislature
- has a direct workforce development need (like upskilling employees, adopting new technologies or addressing critical skills gaps within their industry)
