Event Description:

On March 6 & 7th, 2018 the Department of Seniors and the Halifax Chamber of Commerce are presenting the fourth Annual Silver Economy Summit at the new Halifax Convention Centre. This two-day conference aims to educate, facilitate business growth and make connections, with a theme of how technology impacts one's ability to age with ease.

Nova Scotia’s aging population brings both challenges and opportunities. The Silver Economy Summit consists of two-days of local and international speakers focused on three streams: Social and economic contributions of older adults, healthy active living and aging in place.

Why should I attend?
This is not a conference designed solely for older individuals. This conference will recognize growth opportunities for our region through business and community growth. Perfect for businesses, and adult children to learn and be inspired.

We are expecting over 300 inventors, caregivers, students and individuals looking to transition into the healthiest and most comfortable time of their lives, remaining right here in Nova Scotia with the best possible care.

Attendees will walk away with:
  1. Positive attitude; as the fastest aging population in Canada, the business of aging is very real for Nova Scotians. This is not negative; the right attitude will find opportunity.
  2. Innovation; creative thinking and innovation are required to improve the quality of life for seniors and the Silver Economy Summit will showcase technology that will allow individuals to stay in their homes longer and receive the best care available.
  3. Inspiration; with the diverse mix of information, technology and opportunity, attendees will walk away from the Silver Economy Summit feeing inspired by their education and positive about the opportunities in to grow and prosper in Nova Scotia.
