About Us

IBANS is a voluntary membership organization consisting of more than 1,100 insurance brokers throughout the province. Our mission is to strengthen the insurance broker community and to promote the broker profession. IBANS acts as a resource to government, addresses common member concerns and speaks with a united voice to all stakeholders to represent our members and their many clients.

The Association is a proud member of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC), which works on behalf of its members, encompassing over 38,000 Property and Casualty insurance brokers nationally.

As a way to celebrate our members and the valuable role they play April is considered Insurance Broker Month in the province of Nova Scotia.
