About Us
The Spryfield Business Commission’s vision and mission statement is to “Advocate the interests of local business in building a stronger community”. The Commission measures its success by the partnerships and relationships established in the community. The Commission has established a good reputation in the community and has become recognized by local residents and the Municipality as an organization “that can get things done” in the community.
The SBC organizes and hosts the Annual Spryfield Days Festival and the Spryfield Santa Claus Parade, which is the oldest continuously running Santa Claus Parade east of Montreal. Such events help build and sustain community spirit.
The Commission believes that education is the foundation of our future. As part of our efforts to support and encourage the pursuit of education in our local youth, the SBC awards at least one scholarship per year valued at $500 in memory of our friend and business leader Eric Caines, who tragically passed away on May 2, 2020 following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Scholarships are awarded to eligible J.L. Ilsley High School graduates who are pursuing studies at a post-secondary institution.
