LED Roadway Lighting Ltd. is a Canadian-owned and operated clean technology company that designs and manufactures energy-efficient LED streetlights, smart city and smart grid sensors, adaptive control solutions, and advanced software. Founded in 2007, the company’s headquarters are located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with our primary manufacturing facility in Amherst, Nova Scotia, and a research and development facility in Victoria, British Columbia.

Liveable Cities is a division of LED Roadway Lighting Ltd. that specializes in smart city technology, including smart sensors, network communication technology, and advanced software. Our smart street lighting and connected products are operating worldwide in over 65 countries, and we have begun deploying pilot projects of our newly developed smart city technologies while continuing to broaden our offering of smart city and smart grid sensor solutions.

Our technology quickly and easily transforms streetlights from simple lights to smart city appliances, using advanced sensors and powerful software to produce valuable, actionable insights for stakeholders at cities and utilities globally. Applications include increased energy efficiency from optimized public lighting schedules; improved city planning; real-time speed enforcement and roadway safety programming; high accuracy counting/classifications of bicycles, pedestrians, and vehicles at a mid-block street location; and video surveillance wherever public streetlights are located.
