About Us

The Discovery Centre is Atlantic Canada’s premier family destination found along the beautiful Halifax Waterfront. Its new, state-of-the-art 40,000-square-foot facility features four floors of interactive learning experiences, including an Immersive Dome Theatre, Innovation Lab, Ocean Gallery, Children’s Gallery,
and Featured Exhibit space that hosts top-notch traveling exhibits from around the world, 3 or 4 times a year. The Discovery Centre’s not-for-profit mission brings STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) to life through fun, hands-on learning designed to capture the imagination and inspire the curiosity of all ages. The Centre is a self-guided tour, but STEAM facilitators are readily available to showcase live science demos, answer questions, and make your visit memorable. We welcome group tours, with discounts available to groups of 10 or more who book in advance. A specialty shop on location carries an excellent selection of creative gifts and educational toys.
