Shaping a Thriving Remote Working Environment
The world is changing around us. Shifts are happening in how we work that only months ago would have seemed unlikely, if not unthinkable.
We are working remotely – all at once and at scale!
Now is the time to understand how to proactively shape the way we work distanced from each other and ensure the supports are there to provide a sense of clarity, community and confidence that we support us to adapt and more forward to a bigger future.
An effective culture for remote work is not a given, it needs to be nurtured and proactively shaped to fit the company and the people. Done right, remote working can boost productivity and morale; done badly, it can breed inefficiency, dame work relationships, and demotivate lives. More so, it can negatively affect our health and our psychological well-being. It is also an incredible opportunity to find our best way to contribute and work together.
The next normal will happen and leaders and teams who communicate to connect and stay on track understanding each other will be in the best position to move forward successfully. Remote work is here to stay, and companies can thrive, just ask the right questions.
Our session will assess and share experiences of how working remotely can help to achieve healthy people, healthy companies, and healthy growth.
About the Presenter:
Michael DeVenney, CFA, ICD.D, President, WorkInsights, Founder, The Mindset Project
My work is in supporting entrepreneurs and leaders to find their way to innovation and growth that creates enduring and competitive companies. Working with clients, I combine the qualitative and the quantitative, questions and data, to simplify complexity supporting evidence-based decision-making around opportunities and problems.
I have been working with entrepreneurs and leaders seeking growth since 2003. My continued research work enables me to provide current and timely insights into key business growth issues. With my combination of financial and strategy backgrounds as well as positive psychology, I have an expertise in the sustainable growth of organizations and leaders.
In 2015 I founded The Mindset Project to research and develop solutions centered on entrepreneurs, decision making, and overall wellness. More than eight published articles have highlighted the working environment for entrepreneurs and their teams to perform at their best.
Following the development of outcomes from The Mindset Project, I founded WorkInsights in 2017 to develop a business analytic tool to understand working environment and the capacity for innovation, growth and wellness.
In my work, I am not afraid to push boundaries. Founded in my desire to have a positive impact and make change happen for the better, I apply my curiosity to ask and listen to understand and learn. While caring about the wellbeing of others I work with honesty to provide the truth with respect.
My unique ability is to synthesize and simplify complex concepts into practical and clear applications to take actions for business growth, providing insightful perspective and conceptualizing the big picture.
I am always learning to continue to add value for those I work with. In the prior year, I have completed the Disruptive Strategies diploma program through the Harvard Business School.
As well, I attained my ICD.D designation from the Institute for Corporate Directors and Rotman School of Business as well as a Diploma in Applied Positive Psychology from Sir Wilfred Laurier University.
I have earned diplomas in leadership, strategy and organizational performance from Michigan State University, Notre Dame University, Villanova University and the Center for Creative Leadership as well as program investment return analysis from Villanova University.
With a career starting in the investment industry, I achieved my Chartered Financial Analyst designation along with a Fellowship from the Canadian Securities Industry after graduating from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
