SUMMARY:POWER LUNCH: Dementia Friendly Business with Person Centred Universe
DESCRIPTION:Creating businesses that are inclusive for those living with Dementia - learn how to build a dementia friendly business to give back to the community.\n\n \n\nThere are 17\,000 Nova Scotians living with dementia in the province\, many of whom still go to the grocery store\, the bank\, and spend evenings out with friends at a restaurant - are you doing your part to make your company dementia friendly?\n\n \n\n A diagnosis of dementia doesn't immediately mean that someone is going to be moving into long term care\, and with the current population of aging adults\, we are seeing a shift toward people living at home and connected to their communities longer and with more support. Only 2.5% of the population 85+ is living in long term care - so join us to learn more about creating inclusive and engaging environments for our community members living with dementia. \n\n \n\n\n\nPerson Centred Universe will be hosting this interactive session providing information about what dementia is\, how being dementia friendly can be beneficial to your organization and community involvement\, and how you can easily implement small changes to make your business dementia friendly. \n\n \n\nPlus- We'll be signing up interested Halifax Chamber of Commerce Members and their staff to attend a FREE Dementia Friendly Business Education series! Learn more about the project funded through Nova Scotia's Age Friendly Communities Grant program.\n\n \n\nPRESENTERS: \nAshley King\, Co-Founder\, Person Centred Universe Rachel Neal\, Program Coordinator\, Person Centred Universe
