DESCRIPTION:PINTS + POINTERS is an event series where guests have the opportunity to enjoy a beer\, connect with other entrepreneurs and hear from business leaders on tangible ways they can improve their businesses. These relaxed conversations will not be your traditional classroom-style learning\, it?s more of an interactive event. Conversations will be led by local business leaders who will share their experiences and expertise. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nMeet the Panelists:\n\nTravis Barlow\, CISSP Senior Vice-President\, MDR and IR Services \nMr. Barlow has over 21 years of IT security experience developing technology security solutions for a variety of clients\, including government\, military\, education\, and fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining GoSecure\, Mr. Barlow worked as the Director of Advanced Threat Response for an IT security firm wherein he designed and established an incident response framework and was responsible for all incident response actions for a global base of clients. Mr. Barlow has become a leader in his industry and has been influential in raising IT security awareness and education through founding the annual Atlantic Security Conference (AtlSecCon)\, Halifax Area Security Klatch (HASK) and participating in various conferences throughout North America both as a speaker and keynote.  \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nScott Walsh\, Senior Threat Intelligence Researcher \n\nScott has been trying to break and repurpose technology since he first realized that the intended use of something is not always the best use of something. He has previously worked in a technology capacity in telecommunications\, finance\, and higher education. He currently helps collect and develop signals around security posture at a global scale as a Senior Threat Intelligence Researcher for SecurityScorecard.\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJeff Merrick\, Senior Manager\, Grant Thornton LLP\n\nJeff is a senior manager in the Business Risk Services group at Grant Thornton.  Working with clients across Atlantic Canada\, he advises businesses on how to manage their risk in areas relating to cybersecurity (prevention\, detection and response)\, maintain payment card industry compliance\, complete privacy assessments\, and consult on IT strategy and software solutions.  He is a regular presenter on cybersecurity and payment card industry compliance and has published articles on these topics.
