DESCRIPTION:Navigating COVID-19 with the Chamber is a webinar series about providing answers to the most asked questions our members have while navigating COVID-19.  President & CEO\, Patrick Sullivan\, will be interviewing various industry/topic experts to get the answers our members are looking for during this uncertain time. \n \n\nWhat Employers Need to Know About Labour Law\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Brad Proctor and Patrick Sullivan in a conversation about what is important for employers to know while navigating the affects of COVID-19. \n\nKey topics will include:\n\n\n	Information on employer rights and responsibilities regarding layoffs\, work refusals\, or an employees inability to work \n	How to support employees and help them navigate the EI system\n\n\n\n\n\nBrad Proctor \n\nOffice Lead Partner\, McInnes Cooper\n\n\n\nBrad Proctor is the leader of the Labour and Employment Practice Group as well as the Regional Lead Partner   Labour and Employment based out of the Halifax\, Nova Scotia office.\n\n\n\n\n\nBrad practices management labour and employment law with an emphasis on the following core areas:\n\n\n\n- Occupational Health and Safety\;\n\n- Workers' Compensation\;\n\n- Human Rights and Workplace Accommodations\;\n\n- Labour Relations and Collective Bargaining\;\n\n- Wrongful Dismissal and other Employment-related claims\;\n\n- Workplace Privacy Issues.\n\n \n\n\n\nBrad advises clients to take a proactive approach to management labour and employment relations through the formulation and implementation of employment contracts\, workplace policies as well as the creation of training programs for managers and supervisors with respect to performance management\, workplace accommodations\, harassment prevention and health and safety.\n\n\n\n\n\nBrad appears regularly before labour arbitrators\, human rights tribunals\, Labour Boards\, Workers' Compensation Tribunals as well as various levels of court throughout the Atlantic Canadian provinces.\n\n\n\n\n\nBrad's dedication to his clients and his practice has earned a number of accomplishments. In 2015\, he was named one of Lexpert  Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers under 40. Having gained a national reputation for his experience in occupational health and safety and workers' compensation counsel\, Brad has also been listed in the Best Lawyers  in Canada directory since 2016.
