His passion for health and safety quickly grew as he assumed progressive leadership roles. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer in January 2012. Under his leadership\, time-loss injury has declined. Today\, 30 per cent fewer Nova Scotians are hurt at work than a decade ago. \n\n\n\nOutside of his leadership at the WCB\, Stuart chairs the Association of Workers' Compensation Boards of Canada. He is also a community leader\, serving on the Board of Governors for Acadia University\, and Past-Chair of the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Greater Halifax.\n\n\n\nWorking with a wide range of partners and stakeholders\, Stuart MacLean is committed to making Nova Scotia the safest place to work in Canada.
