DESCRIPTION:The Halifax Chamber of Commerce is working hard to provide our members with resources\, information and value. We are pleased to offer a round of FREE online training programs to help grow your business in collaboration with the Department of Labour\, Skills\, and Immigration. This program is offered to businesses\, managers\, and employees at zero cost as a benefit of your membership. \n\n\n*Only 4 Spots Left*\n\n \n\nTRAINING OVERVIEW:\nWebsite Design training is a 10 week program that will start on\, Tuesday\, January 23\, 2024 and take place once per week every TUESDAY from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.\n\n\n\nThese training sessions are in high demand with our members. Please consider your schedule beforehand and only register if you are 100% committed to fully participating in this training. This is a 40 hour course and you will be required to participate in 80% of the sessions in order to receive the certificate.\n\n \n\n \n Preference will be given to members. Future members interested in joining\, please contact Jenn Kurmey\, Membership Sales Manager: jenn@halifaxchamber.com \n \n \n There are only 12 spaces available for this session\, if the session is full\, please add yourself to the waitlist\, you will be contacted only if a spot opens up.\n \n \n We are limiting this training to 1 employee representative per membership in order to allow more members the opportunity to participate.\n\n \n \n\n\n\nTRAINING TIMELINE:\n\n\n \n To sign up for the training\, you must completed the required registration fields\, which are required by the Department of Labour Skills & Immigration.\n \n \n Once you return your forms\, your contact information will be provided to your trainer and they will contact you to complete an Individual Needs Assessment to ensure this training is the right fit for you and your business.\n \n \n Your trainer will then become your point of contact for the training and they will provide you with the information on how to join the sessions each week.\n\n \n \n\n\n\nPARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS:\n\n\n \n The program must be taken on a computer\, laptop\, or tablet\, no phones. \n \n \n Participants must have an Internet connection\, hardwired preferred vs wi-fi\, high speed no dial up.\n \n \n Headset or earbuds and must have a webcam. If no webcam\, in-laptop video participation is a requirement.\n \n \n Participants must display video\; required to ensure the connection to the instructor and other participants.\n \n \n A quiet place to focus is required\, free of distractions.\n \n\n\n*The above are critically important not only for the success of individual participants but also the success of the entire group.\n\n \n\n\nWEBSITE DESIGN TRAINING:\n\nThis 40 hour instructional course is designed to provide tools and templates to manage any project of and size. Following standard project management methodology\, the course will provide instruction in:\n\n \n\n\n Securing and registering domain\, create a custom email address\, determining budget for website hosting and email essentials.\n Highlights the differences between .com\, .net\, and other extensions\, and touches upon ICANN and Whois/WhoisGuard.\n Choosing the website builders and introduction to AI.\n Keywords\, meta description and usage of Google search driven images\n SEO internal and external links\, Google ETA\n Website security\, introduction to SSL/TSL\n Setup scheduling and payment gateways\n Website cookies and legal requirements\n Website monitoring and taking an action\n\n\n\n\nParticipants will be given the opportunity to work on real-life projects of their interest\, utilizing tried and true project management processes and the latest cloud-based software systems to assist with project management.\n\n\nABOUT THE TRAINER:\n\n\n\nZoran Jokic\, Training First Consulting\n Unlocking the potential of businesses is my passion.
