SUMMARY:Business Support Series: Exploring Intersectionality
DESCRIPTION:The Business Support Webinar Series will explore timely topics with industry experts to provide key insights and answers on the best ways to succeed as a business. Hosted by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce\, this series will feature a wide range of topics on how to survive and thrive. \n\n\n\nIntersectionality must be a core framework for companies\, institutions\, and societies that seek to rectify legacies of inequity and injustice. \n\n\n\nThe concept of intersectionality describes the ways in which systems of inequality based on gender\, race\, ethnicity\, sexual orientation\, gender identity\, disability\, class and other forms of discrimination "intersect" to create unique dynamics and effects \n\n \n\nAlthough it has become commonplace for companies and organizations alike to adopt diversity\, equity and inclusion initiatives\, this work has almost always excluded intersectionality. In this workshop\, we will be discussing the importance of intersectionality and providing tangible examples of how business owners can use the theory to strengthen their policies and practices. \n\n\n\n\n\nPRESENTER INFO\n\n \n\nKENDALL DARLING (he/him)\n\nCO-FOUNDER - PILOT X TECHNOLOGIES \n\nKendall Darling (he/him) is the co-founder of Pilot X Technologies.
