Every year the Halifax Chamber of Commerce and the Halifax Partnership host the Mayor of HRM for a State of the Municipality update. This event is an opportunity for you to connect with our newly elected Mayor and hear about his experience since taking office\, learn about the current state and future for the Municipality\, and learn how the city's projects are progressing. \n\n\n\n Join us on April 14th at the Halifax Convention Centre to hear from Mayor Andy Fillmore for his first Annual State of the Municipality as Mayor of Halifax.\n\n \n\nPRESENTING PARTNER\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MAYOR\n\nMayor Andy Fillmore\n\nAndy Fillmore was the Member of Parliament for Halifax\, from 2015 to 2024 and the first city planner elected to Canada's House of Commons.\n\n\n\nIn his nine years as MP Andy has been a champion for issues around infrastructure and housing\, science and research\, national defence and shipbuilding\, and the environment.\n\n\n\nBefore politics\, Andy spent twenty years as a city planner and community builder in the private\, public\, and academic sectors\, including as Halifax's first Manager of Urban Design where he lead the development of the city's award-winning downtown plan.
