Starting in March, the Halifax Chamber is pleased to offer a FREE 10 week, educational program to help grow your business. This program is offered to businesses, managers, and employees at zero cost. The proposed program will consist of customized modules on the following topics based on the organizational needs assessment and individual needs assessments prior to the program start. Participants will develop strategies to improve their communication skills,

Communication Skills
- Define communication
- Develop an understanding of the communication process
- Identify the importance of verbal/non-verbal communication
- Describe the characteristics/qualities of an effective communicator
- Identify the breakdowns and failures in communication
- Identify your communication style
Active Listening
- Describe active/passive listening
- Develop strategies to enhance your communication at work
- Practice Active Listening
Building Trust in the Workplace
- Define trust
- Recognize the role and impact of trust
- Analyze a trust tax and trust dividend
- List the five waves of trust
- Apply the 13 behaviors of a high trust leader
- Define vulnerability-based trust
Generational Differences
- Identify the impact of different generations working together in the workplace
- Explain how a generation is defined
- List the four generations currently in the workplace and list the dominant characteristics of each generation
