FREE ONLINE TRAINING: Human Resources (Level II)

The Halifax Chamber of Commerce is working hard to provide our members with resources, information and value. We are pleased to offer a round of FREE online training programs to help grow your business. This program is offered to businesses, managers, and employees at zero cost as a benefit of your membership.
TRAINING OVERVIEW:
Human Resources (Level II) training is a 12 week program that will start on Wednesday April 28, 2021 and take place once per week every WEDNESDAY from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
***The Human Resources (Level II) course requires the participant to have completed the Human Resources (Level I) course.
These training sessions are in high demand with our members. Please consider your schedule beforehand and only register if you are 100% committed to fully participating in this training. This is a 40 hour course and you will be required to participate in 80% of the sessions in order to receive the certificate.

We are limiting this training to 1 employee representative per membership in order to allow more members the opportunity to participate.
TRAINING TIMELINE:

Once the training session is full, you will be contacted with the required forms (Participant Agreement and Service Registration Intake Form) which must be completed in full and returned by the specified date or you will lose your spot.

On the Participant Agreement you will be required to include deposit information. You will only be charged for the $100 deposit if you miss more than 80% of the sessions.

Once you return your forms, your contact information will be provided to your trainer and they will contact you to complete an Individual Needs Assessment to ensure this training is the right fit for you and your business.

Your trainer will then become your point of contact for the training and they will provide you with the information on how to join the sessions each week.
PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS:

The program must be taken on a computer, laptop, or tablet, no phones.

Participants must have an Internet connection, hardwired preferred vs wi-fi, high speed no dial up.

Headset or earbuds and must have a webcam. If no webcam, in-laptop video participation is a requirement.

Participants must display video; required to ensure the connection to the instructor and other participants.

A quiet place to focus is required, free of distractions.
*The above are critically important not only for the success of individual participants but also the success of the entire group.
HUMAN RESOURCES (LEVEL II) TRAINING

Human Resource expertise increases an organization’s ability to achieve its goals while maintaining its reputation and retaining its employees. Today’s workplace is complex and the expectations of individuals responsible for HR are ever increasing.
This level II HR course will provide you with knowledge and tools to increase engagement, create high performing teams and address difficult workplace situations such as substance use, mental health and harassment investigations.

ABOUT THE TRAINER:
Genevieve MacInnis
Genevieve MacInnis has 20 years of Human Resources experience working with mid-sized Canadian companies and large multinationals in both unionized and non-unionized environments.
She achieved her Certified Human Resources Professional designation in 2006 and has multiple certificates in Adult Education. Genevieve has delivered over 1500 hours of HR, Leadership, Communication and Conflict Resolution training.
Genevieve is the founder of Inspired Change Consulting, providing services in the areas of Employee Engagement, Leadership Development and Implementing Change.
