BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT NETWORK: January 2018
Understanding Merchant Services.
Join us for a discussion on the Merchant Services industry and learn what every business owner or CFO should know. Ryan O'Leary will help unravel this often confusing industry and give advice on what you need to understand in order to accept payment for your business.
Explanation of terms such as "discount rate", "interchange", and "PCI Compliance". What to watch out for on your merchant statements and how to recognize when you are paying for unnecessary fees and charges.
Discussion will provide insight into what exactly a Merchant Account is and how to go about creating one. What options are available to merchants in order for them to start to accept payments for their businesses. How each of the options available may or may not be a good fit for their particular industry. Recommendations for "best-fit" solutions for each business and a genuine interest in seeing these businesses grow and be successful.
Ryan O'Leary founded PayformancePOS in May 2016. He saw a need to bring a higher level of service to the Merchant Services Industry. After 15 years in the merchant services industry with two major global merchant service providers, he came to the conclusion that he didn't like where most of the industry was heading: deceptive introductory offers, hidden costs, huge profit margins, and contracts that were too expensive to break. He knew there had to be a better way, so he built it. He based PayformancePOS on honesty, transparency, and fairness, with guaranteed rates, no hidden costs, and no cancellation fees. Business owners appreciate the inherent values which represent PayformancePOS's philosophy. Today, PayformancePOS is an established provider of Merchant Services in Atlantic Canada and is continuing to grow across Canada and the USA.
Ryan was born in Halifax Nova Scotia in 1972. He grew up in Halifax and continued on to University, graduating from SFX Antigonish in 1995. Ryan is a proud Nova Scotian and an avid sailor. His proudest accomplishment is by far his beautiful family, wife Kristin and four wonderful children. When Ryan isn't working he is out on the Atlantic enjoying the waves with them.
