NewSell ? A More Thoughtful Approach
Formal sales training has been around for almost a century. In the traditional model the three involved parties have certain expectations about the sales role. The salesperson wants to get the sale, management expects them to make the sale, even the customer expects to be sold by the salesperson. Selling is generally viewed as something you "do" to someone to get a result of some sort, the salesperson must persuade the prospect and close the sale.
Understanding seller and buyer behaviour requires a basic understanding of how people think and behave. Newsell is a novel approach that advocates for transactions based on known learning and behavioural patterns, supported by a shift in expectations and attitude from Sales Management.
This presentation will contrast traditional methodologies and performance with the innovative NewSell ideas and examples.
Colin Mason has held senior roles in Sales, Advertising and Marketing and has published several books on those topics. His consulting firm, Killagriff Marketing Resource, has enjoyed membership in the Chamber for over 20 years, is an active member and previous co-chair of the Business Development Network.
Business Development Network is a monthly session for members to network and listen to a fellow Chamber Member speak about a topic or area of expertise in their field. Presentations are approximately 45 minutes in length, leaving time for a question/answers session and networking. The session is co-hosted by the Member Services Coordinator and the Speaker.
