Making this space more accessible for people with different disabilities is crucial.\n\n\n\nIn this lunch\, Lisa Snider from Access Changes Everything Inc. will present survey results from the recent Nova Scotia Business Online Accessibility Survey. In this survey\, Nova Scotians with disabilities\, and those who support us\, shared their lived experiences\, when accessing Nova Scotia business related digital media and materials\, such as websites\, PDF documents\, videos\, etc.\n\n\n\nThese 'first voice' results were used to help form the free Quick Start Guide to Digital Accessibility for Nova Scotia Businesses. At this Power Lunch\, the tips in this Quick Start Guide will be presented. Thank you to the Nova Scotia government for funding this project through the Business ACCESS-Ability grant.\n\n\n\nWhat you can expect to learn: \n\n \n\n\n	The current digital accessibility landscape in Nova Scotia\, as shared by Nova Scotians with disabilities\, and those who support us.\n	Where to download the free Quick Start Guide to Digital Accessibility.\n	Tips from the Guide\, based on the survey results\, that will help you start to make your digital materials more accessible.\n\n \n\n\n\n\nAbout the Presenter:\n\nLisa Snider\n\nAccess Changes Everything Inc.\n\nLisa Snider is the Senior Digital Accessibility Consultant and Trainer in her company\, Access Changes Everything Inc. For over 23 years\, Lisa's passion in life has been to make the digital world more accessible for people with disabilities. She has done this work in different settings and contexts\, as a web developer\, librarian\, archivist\, and since 2016\, as an accessibility consultant.\n\n\n\nLisa shares this knowledge through training\, workshops\, courses\, audits with paid auditors with disabilities\, manual and automated digital material testing\, procurement consulting\, policy creation\, etc. She has worked with a wide variety of North American organizations\, governments\, and businesses\, such as the Government of Nova Scotia\, Canadian Museum for Human Rights\, etc.\n\n\n\nLisa is Chair of the Nova Scotia Accessibility Act Goods and Services Standard Development Committee\, and was Chair of the Accessibility for Manitobans Act\, Information and Communications Standard Development Committee. She is a Member of the Federal Government's Technical Committee on Accessibility Requirements for Information and Communication Technology Products and Services.
