Prior to serving as President of Heritage Gas\, John was the Vice President Engineering\, Construction and Operations.\n\n \n\nBefore joining Heritage Gas\, John held a variety of positions with Nova Scotia Power. In his role as Director\, Fuels\, Energy & Risk Management\, he oversaw the daily dispatch of the utility?s thermal and renewable energy fleet and $500M in annual commodity purchases. Other positions included Senior Plant Manager for a 480-MW\, gas-fired generating station\, Manager of Hydro and Wind Generation\, and Transmission and Distribution Manager for the Central Region of Nova Scotia. He has also held a variety of senior management roles in the pulp and paper industry. \n\n  \n\nJohn is a Professional Engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the Technical University of Nova Scotia (now the Sexton Campus of Dalhousie University) and currently serves on the board of directors for the Canadian Gas Association.\n\nMeghan McMorris Community Energy Coordinator\, Ecology Action Centre\n\n\n\nAs the Community Energy Coordinator at the Ecology Action Centre\, Meghan McMorris brings climate change down to the level of peoples everyday realities\, and then applies these connections to provincial policy.\n\n\n\n\n\nMeghan is also an advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and is an entrepreneur at heart\, having owned three small businesses related to agriculture\, education and research.\n\n\n\nMeghan leans into her diverse experiences\, from doing her PhD (ABD) to working as a welder in an automotive factory\, in order to bring everyone to the table to create resilient steps forward\, together.
