From 2024 initiatives to exciting plans for 2025\, discover how the team at Halifax Stanfield is creating opportunities for businesses and the community while fostering long-term\, sustainable success across the region.\n\n \n\nJoyce Carter\, FCPA\, FCA\, ICD.D\n\nPresident & CEO\n\n\n\nJoyce Carter is President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA)\, which operates\, manages\, and develops Halifax Stanfield International Airport (Halifax Stanfield).\n\nJoyce is committed to supporting and advising the aviation industry through various board memberships\, locally\, nationally\, and internationally\, including serving as a Board Member and Past Chair of the Canadian Airports Council\, the first woman to hold that role.  Joyce believes it's critical to use her position as a women CEO to support\, mentor\, and inspire other women.  She is a member of various women's organizations\, participates in Young Women's Leadership sessions\, and has taken part in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Mentorship Program. In 2024\, Joyce was appointed Honorary Colonel of 12 Wing Shearwater by RCAF.\n\n \n\nJoyce is a graduate of Chartered Professional Accountants Nova Scotia\, received the Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA) designation and obtained the Institute of Corporate Directors ICD.D designation. She has received numerous awards\, including being named one of Atlantic Canada's Top 50 CEOs by Atlantic Business Magazine from 2017 to 2020 and one of Atlantic Canada's 25 Most Powerful Women in Business in 2023.
