DESCRIPTION:Sold out!\n\n\n\nKeynote: The Honourable John Lohr\, Nova Scotia's Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing \n \n\nOn October 23\, 2023\, the provincial government launched their five-year housing plan\, representing at least $1 billion in spending\, with targets to create the conditions for more than 40\,000 new housing units. The plan aims to "bridge the gap between housing supply and demand and provide Nova Scotians with more housing options." \n\n\n\nThe responsibility for housing is shared across not only the public sector\, but through collaboration with private sector developers\, academic institutions\, community-based organizations\, and not-for-profits. At this luncheon\, Minister Lohr will discuss this plan and the government's strategy for implementation.\n\n \n\nThe Honourable John Lohr\n\nNova Scotia Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing\n\n\n\n\nMinister Lohr is a lifetime Kings County resident\, farmer and successful agri-business entrepreneur. He graduated with honours from Nova Scotia Agricultural College\, and attended the University of Guelph\, where he completed a BSc (Honours) in plant protection from the department of environmental biology.\n\n \n\nMinister Lohr was first elected in 2013\, re-elected in 2017 and again in August 2021 when the PC party formed a majority government.
