SUMMARY:FREE WORKSHOP: Inclusive by Design
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Overview:\n\nDiversity in the workplace drives innovation\, reduces turnover\, and boosts business resilience. Employers can attract top talent and build stronger organizations by fostering inclusive environments. In partnership with Hire for Talent\, this session equips employers and HR professionals with the tools to confidently recruit\, retain\, and support employees with disabilities.\n\n\n\nIn this 1-hour-long session\, participants will learn about essential disability awareness concepts\, implementing workplace accommodations\, inclusive onboarding and recruitment techniques\, and how to utilize workplace inclusion partnerships.\n\n\n\nWhat Employers Will Gain:\n\n\n	Practical tips for recruiting\, onboarding\, and retaining employees from diverse backgrounds.\n	 Simple strategies for creating accessible and inclusive workplaces.\n\n\n\n\n $250 honorarium will be given to each participating organization/employer: contingent upon completion of the in-person workshop AND submitting required post-event survey\n\n*Please read full funding details below\n\n\nSEAN McEWEN\n\nSean McEwen is a Workplace Equity\, Diversity\, Inclusion and Culture Consultant and a Director at RealEyes Capacity Consultants. Sean supports businesses and non-profit organizations to build workforce sustainability through diverse and inclusive workplaces.\n\n\n\nOver the past 26 years Sean has been designing and overseeing Employment Inclusion services for groups underrepresented in employment\, while providing leadership and coaching to teams of career practitioners serving jobseekers and employers. Sean has created and facilitated training for employers across Canada\, and has helped develop regional\, provincial and national networks dedicated to the employment inclusion of underrepresented groups. He is the 2018 recipient of the "Award of Excellence in Employment" granted by the Alberta Premier's Council on the Status of Persons with Disabilities. Sean also designed and directed the GEDI-Hub\, Western Canada's first Employer Resource Centre for Equity\, Diversity and Inclusion.\n\n\n\nLate in his career\, Sean was diagnosed with 5 different disabilities and discovered that he had been working successfully for decades with several of these conditions.\n\nSean's educational background is in Youth Services and Mental Health. He is a Certified Employment Specialist and has chaired the board of directors for both the Alberta Association for Supported Employment\, as well as the Canadian Association of Supported Employment. Sean works across Canada but is based in Victoria. He lived and worked in Calgary for many years and has worked extensively with Indigenous communities in Treaty 7. Sean's Blackfoot (Niitsitapi) name is Oh'sskoi piiksi (blue bird).\n\nABOUT HIRE FOR TALENT\n\nHire for Talent  is a national awareness campaign aimed at increasing employer confidence in hiring people with disabilities and provides resources to help employers tap into this talent pool during their search for skilled workers.\n\n\n\nDelivered by CBDC Restigouche\, Hire for Talent is designed to address the coming need for workforce diversity. This initiative is focused on disability as the primary diversity demographic because experience shows that this diversity group has a profound impact on workplace inclusion. Hiring workers with disabilities generates measurable improvements to a workplace's culture\, morale\, staff retention\, safety and innovation.\n\n \n\n   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nWorkshop Criteria for Funding:\n\nThis workshop is fully-funded and generously delivered by CBDC Restigouche.\n\n\n	Each participating organization/employer* will receive a $250 honorarium**\n\n	\n		*One honorarium will be given to each organization\, regardless of how many additional representatives from that organization attend the workshop\n		**Honorariums will be paid out following the training on the condition that the organization representative attends in-person AND completes the mandatory post-event survey\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	 Any member or non-member organization/employer is eligible to participate in the workshop \n\n\n\n	 In order to allow as many organizations as possible to benefit\, only ONE representative per organization may attend the training\n\n	\n		If extra spaces are available\, we may be able to accommodate multiple representatives from an organization. Please email to check.\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	The workshop must have a minimum of 20 organizations registered in order for the training to proceed\n\n	\n		A maximum of 30 organizations may participate
